On March 10, Shang Wenjiang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and dean of the Business School of China University of Political Science and Law, was "very busy". In the morning, Shang Wenjiang attended the closing meeting of the Third Session of the 14 th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. In the afternoon, he took his luggage to the auditorium of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to attend the Second Session of the Sixth Economic and Social Council of China.
Since serving as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Shang Wenjiang has been exploring how to integrate the theoretical achievements of combining law and business, such as law and economics, institutional economics and social economics, with the needs of the country's economic and social development. For Shang Wenjiang, this major event is not only the interest in academic research and the focus of the committee's performance of duties, but also directly related to the employment of college graduates.
Shang Wenjiang's dedication to socioeconomic research is closely related to his work experience.
In October 2003, Shang Wenjiang moved from Beijing to the People's Government of Banan District, Chongqing Municipality as an assistant to the district head. In February 2022, Shang Wenjiang was introduced by China University of Political Science and Law in the form of talent introduction. During this period, Shang Wenjiang successively served as the deputy director of the Financial Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the deputy director of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Management Committee, directly responsible for the government's investment promotion work.
Because of this, Shang Wenjiang has an in-depth study of "industry and investment promotion".
"Whether it is in the field of economics or in the field of business administration, it is necessary to increase the in-depth and detailed research of the industry and the training of related talents. This is not only because the industry supports economic development and national governance, but also because domestic investment promotion and foreign export control also need talents familiar with the industry, and innovation and the application of its results need to be realized through industrialization. "Shang Wenjiang, who has rich experience in attracting investment, is well aware of the importance of industrial research.
"However, China's colleges and universities have not yet set up a major or direction to train talents in this area, and students who graduated from economics and management majors are not very knowledgeable about industry-related knowledge, resulting in the contradiction between college graduates and unmet needs and large needs, the main reason is that the traditional economics and management teaching content is out of touch with the actual industrial development and enterprise operation practice in China." Shang Wenjiang said.
Shang Wenjiang believes that the current training programs of many schools are out of touch with the actual needs of society. For example, local economic development needs talents who are familiar with the industry and attracting investment, but whether it is a university or a vocational college, there is a lack of talent training with compound knowledge ability.
The key to breaking through the blockages in talent training and the employment of college graduates lies in the updating of training programs and the construction of knowledge systems.
Shang Wenjiang believes that whether in the field of economics or management, China needs to strive to build an independent knowledge system, which is not only the personal experience of performing duties, but also the needs seen in the work of personnel training. For example, in the cultivation of business administration talents, it is necessary to increase the teaching content of effective analysis of the general structure of enterprises, and strengthen the comparative research and teaching required by the basic classification of enterprises in China. In addition to the above-mentioned construction of the independent knowledge system of micro enterprises, it is also necessary to increase the systematic and in-depth research on the industries that support economic development and the training of relevant talents.
Since Shang Wenjiang came to China University of Political Science and Law, he has been working hard to build an industry-related curriculum system. In his view, in the field of economics and management, it is necessary to build an independent knowledge system around the important grasp of "industry", so as to improve the fit between higher education and the needs of economic and social development, reduce the contradiction between the employment of graduates at all levels of colleges and universities and meet the real economic and social needs, and at the same time, strive to make China's independent knowledge system have a general industrial logic, so that it can be compatible with and compare the industrial knowledge and practice of other countries, and ultimately help the realization of the goal of building a strong country in education.
"The rule of law is the best business environment. China University of Political Science and Law is in a leading position in the field of legal education, and has great advantages in undertaking the task of cultivating talents for industrial investment, and we also have the support of courses and practices such as business analysis, land management, tax management, financial management, and audit management. Shang Wenjiang hopes to build a discipline cluster and professional matrix that are compatible with the high-quality development of the economy and society as soon as possible.
Shang Wenjiang noticed that there are at least 40 mentions of the word "industry" in this year's government work report. It is not difficult to see that the industry occupies an important position in economic and social development. But correspondingly, there is a shortage of talent in this area. Shang Wenjiang said.
"In the process of promoting high-quality economic and social development, what kind of talents do we need to cultivate? In my opinion, we should not only understand the theoretical knowledge of law and economics, but also have experience in attracting investment in practice, and we should guide students to come out of law and economics and learn more about and participate in practice. Shang Wenjiang said.
On the morning of the 10th, before attending the closing session of the Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shang Wenjiang sent a reporter an article related to artificial intelligence on WeChat, with a few words attached - "industry and talents".
"For college graduates in the new era, we need to cultivate their ability to understand what is happening under their feet with their hearts, understand them professionally and holistically, grasp the essence of things and the nodes of problems, and provide effective solutions on the basis of finding out the causes of problems. Only in this way can we do our work in concrete practice and truly 'write our theses on the land of the motherland.'" Shang Wenjiang said.
