In order to actively respond to the requirements of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education to carry out the special evaluation of degree authorization points and the self-evaluation of schools, at 2 p.m. on April 18, the School of Business held a seminar on the 2024 periodic qualification assessment report of disciplines in Conference Room 0111 of the Library Complex Building of the Graduate School. The purpose of this conference is to discuss the writing of self-evaluation reports for the three first-level disciplines of applied economics, business administration and MBA in business administration.
Li Xinyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business, He Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Yin Meiqun, Liu Zhixiong, Xiong Jinwu, Vice Deans, Wu Yunxian and Guo Ying, Assistant Deans of the Business School, as well as the deans of various departments and key teachers attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Dean Yin Meiqun gave a brief introduction and sorted out the development of various disciplines of the Business School, and emphasized the importance and urgency of this round of periodic qualification assessment of disciplines. She pointed out that the writing of the self-assessment report should not only highlight the characteristics of the discipline and refine the data content, but also ensure that the report is comprehensive and targeted.
Subsequently, the heads and leaders of each discipline reported on the writing of the self-assessment report of the major. Professor Liu Zhixiong, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Head of the Department of Applied Economics, first introduced the overall writing of the evaluation report of the major, and said that there is still room for improvement in the two aspects of data summary and text expression. Professor Li Chao, Dean of the Department of Industrial Economics, and Associate Professor Hong Zhiwu, Deputy Director of the Department of Capital and Finance, respectively reported on talent training, discipline construction, management services and service contributions.
Next, Professor Guo Ying, Dean of the Department of Business Administration, made a presentation on the evaluation report of the discipline of Business Administration, covering many aspects such as faculty, ideological and political construction, academic training and effectiveness, and demonstrated the achievements of the Department of Business Administration in national projects and social services. At the same time, she also pointed out some problems encountered in the process of writing the report, such as the control of the length of words, the way of displaying the results, and the correspondence between personnel and results. Associate Professor Hua Yixin, Deputy Director of the Department of Law and Business, and Professor He Ding, Deputy Director of the Department of Accounting, gave supplementary explanations on the evaluation report of the first-level discipline degree authorization point of business administration, and said that they would actively cooperate with the writing of the evaluation report of the major.
Subsequently, Professor Dai Jianhua, deputy director of the MBA Education Center, gave a comprehensive explanation of the evaluation report of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) to the participating teachers. Mr. Xiao Furong, Director of the MBA Admissions Department, supplemented the evaluation report of the MBA professional master's degree authorization point, pointing out that the report needs to be further sublimated in showing the characteristics of talent training, and can be polished from case studies and practical teaching.
After listening to the reports of the teachers in charge of each subject, the participating teachers had an exchange and discussion. For the imperfect and unsatisfactory report, the person in charge of each discipline should conduct an in-depth analysis and revision of the evaluation report to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the report. At the same time, Secretary Li also emphasized the importance of promoting construction through evaluation, and in the process of evaluating and sorting out the report, it is necessary to actively find the weak links in the construction and development of disciplines, and strengthen and improve them in a targeted manner, so as to improve the overall discipline construction level of the college.
