Professor Xi Chen is a consumer psychology and marketing researcher. Her expertise is in branding, luxury product management, consumer behavior, Chinese brand management, consumer goals and purchase behavior. Her research focuses on consumer motivation and decisions, Chinese luxury brand, international luxury brand and industry management, branding, international marketing. Her publications appear in marketing and international management journals.
She was the recipient of the 2011 Emerald Excellent Paper Award for her research on “Typology of the Chinese Exporters” and the Best Paper Award of 2009 JMS Doctor Doctoral Consortium. And She received the “Best Teaching Cases of 100 Chinese Management Cases” annual award “, and the cases she wrote appear in Ivey Business School Case.
She also received the 2022 Best Advisor Award of Graduate Student Dissertation of CUPL, and the Best Mentor of the 3rd MIB International Business Negotiation Contest of year 2023, Best Mentor Award of International Business Negotiation Contest of 2023 and 2022.
At the Business School of CUPL, Professor Chen teaches the Marketing Management, Consumer Behavior, and Management Frontiers in the undergraduate program, and Consumer Behavior Research Frontiers in the Master program.
Professor Chen received a Bacholar in Economics from Renmin University and Master and Ph.D in Marketing from the University of Tsinghua University. And she was visiting scholar of Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University of USA.
